21 July 2012
We are very excited to present an exclusive Music Event in Mfuwe on 21 July 2012 - NKALANGO! The aim of the concert is to promote conservation principles, engage community in some of the issues and concerns facing the wild environment in the South Luangwa and how they may be addressed.
The five national artists are Petersen, Impi, Judy, Ruff Kid and Slapdee. Each of them has produced a conservation song especially for the event to help promote the message of the importance of conserving wildlife and the natural environment. In addition to these top artists there will be dancing and singing by local artists, and performances by local schoolchildren. It has been sponsored by a number of organisations and commercial companies.
NKALANGO! means "The Bush!" or "The Wild!" in the local language and is a celebration of the wild environment in the South Luangwa and across Zambia. Selected highlights of the events will be produced into a programme and televised; at a later date, nationally!
NKALANGO! has been made possible by the generous financial support of Civil Society Environment Fund - Zambia (CSEF) and of local and national businesses and organisations, the event is non-profit making.
If you are in Mfuwe please come along 11.00 to 18.00 hours at the grounds of the Mfuwe Airport. The concert is free for all.
