"Absolutely stunning - we spent most of the time speechless - so impressed with the thought and attention to detail. A really fabulous place for children to learn."

The Auction

There is a reserve of $1200 (£600) on the painting, which is the usual price set for Galen’s other commissioned works of art. If this reserve is reached Chipembele will receive $600. Hopefully the price will be exceeded!
To place a bid simply send an e-mail including your name and the maximum price you would like to pay, to:

info@chipembele.org

Bidder’s details will remain anonymous.

Closing date for bids is 30th of April 2008.

Prints also available

If you would prefer to buy a print of the original painting, Galen has kindly agreed to also donate 50% of the purchase price to Chipembele. The prints are freely available for sale, priced according to size, mount and frame choices from $42 - $181. They do not form any part of the auction of the original painting. If you are interested please go to:

The proceeds

100% of the proceeds of the auction, if the reserve is reached, will be used in Chipembele’s orphaned and injured animal programme. Plans are in place to construct a larger, more appropriate small mammals’ cage and a large secure elephant boma at Chipembele this year. Some funds have already been donated but more are still needed to make the projects viable and the enclosures constructed to a high standard. They will be used in the rearing of orphaned and injured animals and their subsequent rehabilitation to the wild.

Please support this project by making a bid today.

Thank you!
